Traditional and modern craft at LINLEY
Over its 30-year history, LINLEY has perfected the art of ‘painting in wood’, gaining a world-class reputation for modern marquetry. To celebrate this and to mark London Craft Week, the furniture maker is presenting a new piece inspired by Islamic geometric patterns, hosting an exhibition of Michael Eden’s 3D sculptures and inviting customers to see artist David Degreef-Mounier at work. Pop along to the flagship showroom on Pimlico Road throughout the week to take in the exhibits.

Edmond Byrne and friends
Join glass artist Edmond Byrne in conversation with the New Craftsmen’s Creative Director Catherine Lock and an architect and interior designer from Rolfe Judd, as the group discuss his work over afternoon tea. Byrne, whose work is held in a number of significant collections, is also hosting an exhibition at the New Craftsmen throughout the week, so there’s no excuse not to pay the art space a visit.

Lulu Lytle at Soane Britain
For 17 years, Soane Britain has cultivated relationships with dedicated artisans throughout the country, who practise crafts such as iron forging, precision engineering and saddlery. In this exclusive event, Lulu Lytle, Soane’s creative director and founder, shares her journey from acquisition to subsequent revival of the last rattan-weaving workshop in the UK. Arrive early to bag a seat.

Making a LOEWE handbag
LOEWE began in 1846 as a collective workshop of leather artisans in Madrid. Since taking over as creative director in 2013, Irish-born designer Jonathan Anderson has reinterpreted the brand’s long-standing values with a new visual identity. Don’t miss your chance to see a LOEWE handbag made from start to finish in store, from pattern cutting and construction to stitching and finishing.

A window with a view
To help London Craft Week go out with a bang, ‘A window with a view’ returns to Pimlico Road on 7 May. Organised by Grosvenor, the event shines a spotlight on the artistry behind specialists such as Ossowski, Rose Uniacke, Howe, LINLEY, Soane, Joanna Wood and Jamb, with a series of live window displays. Pop down to witness the talent for yourself.
