Celebrated US restauranteur Kathy Sidell opened her seafood restaurant Saltie Girl today (8 November) in foodie hotspot North Audley Street in London’s Mayfair, just off Oxford Street near Selfridges.

Established in Boston in 2016, Saltie Girl is renowned for its sustainable and high-quality oysters, lobster, caviar, tinned fish and creative cocktails.

Diners at the Mayfair restaurant can expect Saltie Girl’s fresh and original approach to seafood.

The restaurant serves one of the largest tinned fish collections currently seen in a restaurant globally.

The Boston restaurant offers 65 varieties of tinned fish at any one time, all served alongside French bread, butter and a trio of salts.

On the menu are Saltie Girl classics including New England lobster roll, whole fried seabass and fried lobster and waffles. Unique for the London restaurant are monkfish and dover sole.

The menu was developed by Sidell and renowned restauranteur and chef Richard Turner.

Based in a culinary hotspot in North Audley Street, the 100-cover restaurant is split over two floors. There are also three private dining rooms and alfresco seating.

On the drinks menu are seasonal fruity cocktails and an extensive international wine list, including everything from biodynamic labels from the Adriatic to Californian classics.

Kathy Sidell says: “As Britain is obviously a nation that loves fish, whether it be fried, smoked, potted or sautéed, I feel Saltie Girl will speak enthusiastically to the British palate with its many iterations of seafood. Londoners and visitors alike will be intrigued by our offerings and the fine food and service that we pride ourselves on.”

Address: Saltie Girl, 15 North Audley Street, London W1K 6WZ
