Claridge's Bar

Where? Claridge’s Hotel, Brook Street, Mayfair, W1K 4HR
What? Rare champagnes and high-end spirits offered in a refined, Art Deco-style space
Website: https://www.claridges.co.uk/restaurants-bars/claridges-bar/

What makes it such a great bar: Another 5-star experience, this time courtesy of Claridge’s on Brook Street. This hotel is synonymous with sophistication and refinement, but the various bars on site offer everything from classy cocktails to casual pints, and everything in between.

For a decadent drinking experience, head to the Claridge's Bar, which is an Art Deco-influenced space designed and executed by the David Collins Studio. Alternatively, if you're after something altogether different, head to the artistic and vibrant Painter’s Room, which is an ode to 1930s Provence and Italy. Needless to say, both bars offer an unparalleled level of customer care, along with the tastiest tipples you'll find anywhere in the city.

If you like your fizz, then ask one of the sommeliers to recommend a glass of delicious Champagne. Or if you're more a connoisseur of cocktails, Clardige’s fully trained and professional mixologists are ready and waiting to create you the perfect glass of something special.

Open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 1am, and Sundays from 9am to 12am, the wonderful thing about Claridge’s is that there is always a bar ready to serve you, along with the world-famous Claridge’s gold standard of service.

The Lucky Cat Bar

Where? 10 Grosvenor Square, Mayfair, W1K 6JP
What? Swanky space from chef Gordon Ramsay, evoking 1930s Tokyo drinking dens
Website: https://www.gordonramsayrestaurants.com/lucky-cat/bar/

What makes it such a great bar: The brainchild of world-famous chef Gordon Ramsay, the Lucky Cat on Grosvenor Square is a dark, decadent haven and a tribute to the drinking dens of 1930s Tokyo and Shanghai.

This dimly-lit, atmospheric speak-easy may be in one of London's most famous squares, but it feels like you are the only person in the whole world to know about this place, as you ascend the stairs into this private and intimate bar/restaurant.

The cocktail menu here is as exotic and lively as you would expect from an Asian-inspired bar, and we highly recommend the Shiso Smash, Machu Picchu and Singapore Sling for a drink that seriously packs a punch! Not to mention, as a nod to its Japanese influence, there is an entire list of sake to sample.

Finally, it wouldn't be a Gordon Ramsay establishment without some absolutely incredible food menus. From lunch, late night dinners and private dining, the Lucky Cat will cater to your every need. Open from 12pm every day of the week, the bar is open until 3am Thursday to Saturday, and midnight on most other days.
