There’s no season like wedding season, the perfect excuse to dust off your glad rags and perhaps invest in a gorgeous new outfit or two.
That said, if, like many of us, you’ve got a gazillion ceremonies to attend, you might not want to blow all your budget on dresses or jumpsuits – which is where accessories come in. They are the perfect way to instantly update an outfit without breaking the bank. You’ll be surprised what a difference a statement necklace, fascinator or even a new pair of shoes can make to an old favourite.
If you’re unsure what styles to go for, it’s always a good idea to look to the main spring/summer 22 fashion trends, as seen on the catwalk. During the shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris, I saw lots of colours and bold prints, and applying these to your accessories is the ideal way to dip into the trend. For example, a neon perspex clutch or shoes will add instant energy to an otherwise simple blush pink dress.
I also know colourful jewellery is huge right now – as you’ll have seen from my previous shopping edit – so do embrace this, even if it’s just a cocktail ring or discreet earrings.
Now onto a slightly more controversial subject: hats and fascinators. They do tend to get a bad rep for being stuffy and old fashioned, but trust me when I tell you this season’s offering is anything but. Whether you’re going for a classic Prada bejewelled headband or a Gucci pillbox hat – both available at MatchesFashion, you’re guaranteed to turn heads for all the right reasons.
So without further ado, please enjoy shopping my edit of the best wedding guest accessories.
