Over the last few months, the Mayfair fashion community has been coming together to support key workers and give back to those who have been on the front line caring for the sick during the pandemic.
J&M Davidson, purveyor of luxury handbags, accessories and ready-to-wear fashion, have teamed up with five artists to design special handbags which will be sold exclusively online with 100% of proceeds going to the NHS. The artists are all part of the J&M Davidson family and show the breadth of inspiration that can be found from those we surround ourselves with.
Designers include artist and photographer Indigo Lewin, designer Mimi Wade, embroidery designer Laura Lees, artists and printmaker Ed Curtis and artist Emily Barrett. The NHS bags will be a beautifully designed reminder of a time when community became incredibly important and caring for one another took on a new meaning. The brand is known for unique collaborations with artists and visionaries. One such is the recent collaboration with English landscape painter Andrea Allen for Spring Summer 2020 which sees Allen’s love for colourful, textural artwork sitting on a selection of bestselling bags and accessories. Elements from Allen’s paintings are brought to life on leather and canvas, and inspiration has also been taken from her painterly overalls and paint splashed palette.
J&M Davidson’s flagship store, located on Mount Street in Mayfair, is set to reopen on 1 July so follow their Instagram @jandmdavidson to keep up to date.
