The name Scotts has been synonymous with seafood in London for over 170 years. What was once an oyster room, expanded into a restaurant here in Mayfair in 1967. The food on offer at Scotts is world-class. They have a full a la carte menu that includes vegetarian options as well. Hideaway is one of Mayfair’s quirkiest little establishments and, indeed, up there with the best restaurants near Buckingham Palace. The decor is intriguing and the atmosphere is as friendly as it comes. The team here offers a warm welcome with fabulous surroundings and a fantastic menu to top it all off.

The serving suggestions here at Hideaway are focused on light bites rather than full meals. There are a number of starters including smoked salmon and beluga caviar. The mains are made up of rolls, baguettes and bagels. And you can take your pick from fillings such as lobster, mortadella or tomato and basil. There are some fantastic toasties including Croque Monsieur and a couple of pizza choices as well.

This Michelin-star establishment has been voted one of Britain’s top 100 restaurants by the Sunday Times and has received several other awards along the way. They are open 7 days a week and even have a wonderful afternoon tea session between 3:00 and 4:30 from Wednesday to Sunday.

There are lunch and dinner menus available with dishes that highlight the traditional Nanyang Chinese flavours and textures. We recommend the wasabi prawns with lightly salted beef fillet followed by hot and sour soup and roasted Peking duck. The Connaught Grill is just one of the fabulous eateries hidden away within this prestigious hotel complex. The restaurant previously existed outside the hotel but was returned to its rightful home out of respect for its distinguished heritage.

The restaurant is under the direction of renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and presents a host of magnificent serving suggestions. There is a lunchtime menu along with a full a la carte menu available. Among our favourites are the organic Welsh rack of lamb and the artichoke hearts, which are simply phenomenal.
