The Audley Public House is cemented in Mayfair culture as one of the finest surviving examples of a traditional pub. There has been an inn on this site since 1730 and The Audley as we now know it has been here since 1888. This Victorian redevelopment saw the addition of wood-cladded walls, tasteful fixtures and a long ornate bar.

Today, it has undergone further refurbishment and now includes a wonderful selection of contemporary art that mingles subtly with the existing surroundings. The first floor of the building has also been converted into a fabulous restaurant.

In the pub itself, we can expect traditional English fare and a fantastic range of draft ales and other drinks.

There are two very different sides to Comptoir Cafe and Wine. As the name suggests, one focuses heavily on the cafe scene and the other on wine. During the day, the cafe takes precedence with its great coffee and cakes then as the evening rolls around, that’s when the wine starts flowing.

By day, we can enjoy some of the most fantastic blends of freshly roasted coffee with brunch dishes to fill the gap between breakfast and lunch. Located in the prestigious Connaught Hotel on Carlos Place, they don’t come more sophisticated than the Coburg. This delightful little corner of the hotel is dedicated to enjoying a quiet and intimate moment hiding away from the buzz of everyday London life. Everything about the bar exudes luxury and even the chairs have become somewhat of a talking point being reupholstered by India Mahdavi.

The Barley Mow on Duke Street is another fine example of a traditional tavern that has survived since the 1800s. This public house was rebuilt in the late 1800s and then received a huge overhaul in more recent times.

On the first floor of the building is a newly opened restaurant while the ground level remains dedicated to traditional ales, wines, spirits and a fabulous selection of snacks and meals. The vast majority of quality food available comes at a very decent price point that is extremely competitive in this area.
