Whether you’re lucky enough to be jetting off to the French Riviera or the Amalfi coast, or simply staycationing a little closer to home, the perfect capsule holiday wardrobe will take you from vacation to vacation, year after year.
As a seasoned traveller myself (pre-pandemic of course), I’ve managed to narrow down my essential sartorial packing list to just ten items. That’s all you’ll need too.
Think items that work just as hard on their own as they do mixed and matched with other pieces. For example, a great swimsuit doubles up as a lovely top paired with palazzo trousers, or chunky sandals can work just as well with a cover-up on the beach as they do with an evening dress for cocktails by the pool. Don’t neglect your accessories either, oversized sunglasses, basket bag and a gold medallion necklace have been my go-to for years.
Some of my favourite beachwear brands reside in Mayfair and I’m excited to share them with you. Browns and MatchesFashion always curate great holiday shops filled with treasures from designers such as Cult Gaia, Zimmermann and Bondi Born (Australian brands are great at resortwear). Ba&Sh, Whistles and French Connection Studios deliver the best accessories, and I just love Monica Vinader for versatile gold jewellery you can easily layer on top of your swimsuit or evening attire.
