With holiday season fast approaching, there’s never been a better time to spruce up your holiday wardrobe.
Especially now that most designers and retailers in Mayfair have dropped their resortwear collections.
You might think that you don’t need a vacation-specific wardrobe, but trust me, you do. Invest in the right pieces, and not only will they last you for years of holidays to come, but you’ll be able to weave them into your existing summer collection too.
So what exactly does this resort capsule consist of? Well, a few basic clothing items of course, as well as accessories.
These include but are not limited to: a floaty summer dress that can be worn both on holiday and at home. An oversized linen shirt, which works with either matching shorts or palazzo trousers. A well-cut swimsuit – do not scrimp on this – that doubles up as a top when worn with a wrap skirt or trousers. Classic sunglasses – you can’t go wrong with cat eye or oversized frames. Sandals, preferably flat so they can see you from pool to bar, though of course strappy heels will elevate your evening look. A beach bag for the day, and a small beaded or basket bag for the night.
It’s as simple as that. Those pieces, on their own or on rotation with your existing wardrobe, will always keep you chic no matter your destination. With that in mind, shop my capsule holiday wardrobe edit below.
