British pubs are renowned the world over.  Big and small, traditional and modern – there is no better place in the world to sample some of the best pub food than in Mayfair.  Stop and let the world go by as you tuck into some real pub classics.

The Running Horse

Established in 1738, The Running Horse is the oldest public house and kitchen in Mayfair.  In 2013 after being lovingly restored back to full health, this grande dame threw open her doors again to welcome old friends and new fans.  Their award-winning team creates seasonal dishes all year round, serving lunch through to dinner with highlights like the Chopped Burger, TRH pies and the Lobster Croissant.  All ingredients are sourced from some of the UK’s best independent food and drink producers – which means every time you visit, you get the full British experience – from field to bottle to table.  Unusually for a pub, The Running Horse has outdone itself with its own take on a range of cocktails.  Try the Bloody Mare (with smoked vodka) or a Spring Pea Collins with fresh pea juice, bay syrup, soda beetroot Mescal sours and gin. 50 Davies Street, Mayfair, London W1K 5JE.

The Barley Mow
