Spanish luxury footwear artisans Pretty Ballerinas has joined forces with Amelia Windsor to create a sustainable capsule collection of summer footwear that represents the fun and colourful spirit of the brand.

Inspired by a series of vibrant illustrations reminiscent of childhood summers created by Amelia while visiting the island of Menorca, Pretty Ballerinas home, the designs are entirely made with recycled fabrics made from used garments and recycled soles. The collection will be available in March 2023.

The edit features Mel’s designs on five styles including a new block heel Mary Jane and a slider as well as the seminal round and pointed ballet pumps. The designs are imbued with the spirit of joy when the sun returns and summer is on the horizon. The feeling of nature bursting with life and colour returning with the potential for new beginnings whether that be for love or adventure. The sustainability aspect of the capsule was extremely important for both Amelia and Pretty Ballerinas, making the designs even more special. The Singer sliders are made of 100% recycled cotton made from used garments and have recycled memory foam anatomic insoles.

The rest of the collection features digital prints on recycled fabrics also made from used garments. As for the soles, they are all made of 100% recycled rubber. “I really admire the fact that Pretty Ballerinas have been made in Menorca since 1918. The shoes are made to last and I have loved working with the team with trying to find ways to make the collection environmentally friendly” says Amelia.
