Craft in Context: How Landscape and identity inspire Scottish craft at Mount St. Restaurant

Join the Fife Arms as they host a panel discussion at Mount St. Restaurant exploring the themes of nature and place in Scottish craft.

Moderated by Hugo Macdonald of Bard, a shop that celebrates the best of Scottish craft, the event brings together three talented makers who each have a deep connection with the landscape. 

Textile designer Araminta Campbell created the Fife Arms tartan and tweed; Horn carver Gareth Guy of McLean of Braemar uses antlers collected from Highland estates to create beautiful, collectable pieces; and accessories designer Iseabal Hendry creates accessories from woven leatherwork. 

The focus of their conversation is the Scottish landscape through the changing seasons — how it inspires and informs their craft — as well as the challenges and pleasure to be had in harnessing the bounty of nature without damaging or diminishing it. 

The discussion lasts for one hour, followed by an audience Q&A and individual demonstrations and conversations with the makers.

A Celebration of Indian Craft at Bamford

Explore the intricacies of Indian craft across textile creation, natural dyes and embroidery at this intimate workshop at Bamford. 

Every season, Bamford collaborates with a series of makers to support local craftspeople in its commitment to championing slower methods of production. This year, Bamford is celebrating the longevity of its Indian partnerships by bringing to life the crafts of non-profit initiative Nila and hand-weaving clothing brand Injiri.

In Bloom at Browns Fashion

Visit Browns’ boutique-wide exhibition unearthing the roots of two artists’ explorations of spring themes in full bloom. 

On display is James Shaw’s “Plastic Baroque” which challenges the notion of waste, and intricate sculptures by Elodie Blanchard, the master of harmonious textile artistry who breathes new life into discarded fabrics.

Journey throughout the curated spaces spanning three floors to discover the captivating artworks echoing the reinvigorating narratives of the new season’s sartorial updates.

Omorovicza x DB Ceramic

Join Omorovicza co-founder Margaret de Heinrich and DB CERAMIC founder Deborah Brett as they delve into their respective careers, and reveal how innovation, craftsmanship, and curiosity impacts their creative disciplines and inspires them.

See the unveiling of Deborah’s new collection of sculptures, each one inspired by the materials, colours and textures used within Omorovicza’s Institute. The pieces are handmade within her London studio using signature glazes and layered onto speckled stoneware and black clay.

The conversation will be moderated by Busola Evans, an interiors specialist and renowned journalist, with more than 20 years of experience.

The ticket price includes a drinks reception and a complimentary Omorovicza gift.
